Beneath the Surface is a visual assemblage by Milan-based contemporary artist Jonathan Goffredo, combining layered paper, ink, graphic patterns and organic abstract forms.

The composition develops through horizontal bands that resemble visual sediments, creating a rhythmic structure of black, white and earthy tones. Repeated lines and patterns are interrupted by fluid shapes and a large concentric form, generating a dialogue between geometry and organic movement.

Through layering, repetition and fragmentation, the work explores the idea of the surface as something temporary: a visible threshold concealing previous marks, structures and transformations.

Beneath the Surface reflects Jonathan Goffredo’s approach to contemporary abstraction, where physical construction and graphic language become part of the meaning of the image itself.
