Outside the Grid is a visual assemblage by Milan-based contemporary artist Jonathan Goffredo, built through layered paper, ink washes, graphic marks and fragmented abstract forms.

The work investigates the tension between imposed structure and organic movement. Geometric divisions suggest an attempt to classify and contain the image, while fluid black and grey stains spread unpredictably across the composition, resisting fixed boundaries.

Fragments appear almost as samples extracted from a larger visual territory: traces are isolated, displaced and reorganized into a new system. Through this process, Outside the Grid transforms paper, ink and negative space into an abstract map suspended between control and instinct.
